About me
I’m Jack, a poet and software engineer from London, United Kingdom. Part-time poet is where I publish occasional thoughts on poetry and (less frequently) technology. It’s really a space for me to flesh out how I think or feel about a particular topic — to think in public.
If you’d like to read some of my work, you can find some older pieces free to read online in Propel and And Other Poems. My work has also been published in print magazines such as 14poems, Gutter, and elsewhere. You can also watch me reading one of my poems out loud if you’d like to.
I’m also active on Instagram: @jackwestmore93. Instagram is pretty good for poetry these days.
I have a small book of poems forthcoming with Ignition Press — stay tuned for updates on that.
If you’d like to get in touch, you can message me on the Substack app. Part of why I write is to start a conversation — it’s always lovely when people reach out.
‘Now let us issue from the darkness of solitude,’ said Louis.
‘Now let us say, brutally and directly, what is in our minds,’ said Neville. ‘Our isolation, our preparation, is over. The furtive days of secrecy and hiding, the revelations on staircases, moments of terror and ecstasy.’
— Virginia Woolf, The Waves
